What we do

Eight ways to bring voices together.

From corporate boardrooms to library reading rooms, every Withness experience invites people into the same thing — listening, singing, being present with one another.

Corporate Team Building

Move your team beyond trust falls. We use voice and rhythm to build real listening, real coordination, and real warmth — in two hours, not two days.

For Companies, leadership teams, off-sites

Choir Development

Refine blend, expand range, and renew the love of singing. Workshops for existing choirs at any level — community, school, faith-based, or professional.

For Established choirs and ensembles

Vocal Exploration

A guided journey into your own voice — breath, resonance, body, and emotion. No prior experience needed. Most people are surprised by what they find.

For Curious singers and non-singers alike

Circle Songs

Let me introduce you to your voice. Improvised, loop-based group singing where every person becomes one layer of a living, shifting piece of music.

For Adventurous groups ready to play

Community Sing-alongs

Open, joyful gatherings where strangers become harmonies. Pop, folk, gospel, world — songs everyone half-remembers and is glad to sing again.

For Neighborhoods, events, festivals

Library Offerings

Story-and-song programming for public libraries — multigenerational, multilingual, and grant-friendly. Made for the people who already gather there.

For Public libraries & literacy programs

Music Wellness Labs

Music as nervous-system regulation. Combining voice, breath, and rhythm to reduce stress, improve mood, and reconnect body and breath in a group setting.

For Healthcare, wellness centers, nonprofits

Interactive Sound Bath

A sound bath you participate in. Voice, singing bowls, and gentle drones — guests both receive sound and contribute their own. Deeply restorative.

For Retreats, meditation centers, private events
What to expect

How a session works.

No experience needed. No instruments. Just your voice and a room full of people ready to try something together.

01

We arrive and warm up

We open the room — breath, body, a little laughter. Within the first few minutes, people are already making sound together without thinking about it.

02

The room finds its voice

Through circle songs, call-and-response, and guided improvisation, each person adds a layer. The music builds from the group — no rehearsal, no sheet music, no wrong notes.

03

People leave differently

Lighter. More connected. Often surprised. The shift that happens when strangers sing together is hard to describe before it happens — and hard to forget after.

Why Withness

Where presence is the practice.

i.

Builds real connection

Singing together coordinates breath, heartbeat, and attention. You feel it within minutes — strangers become a room. Coworkers become a team. Communities remember themselves.

ii.

Accessible to everyone

No experience, no training, no "I can't sing." Withness is designed for the room as it is — every voice belongs, every person contributes, no one is performing.

iii.

Transformative for teams

Decades of research and centuries of practice both point the same direction: groups that sing together communicate, trust, and create at a different level afterward.

Singing together is the oldest technology we have for being a community. Everything else — language, ritual, work, love — comes after the first voice that decided not to be alone.

From the room

What people say after.

"Attending these circle singing workshops has been nothing short of transformative. The ability to create a space that is both structured and deeply free-flowing allows singers of all levels to tap into their creativity, connect with others, and experience the power of spontaneous music-making. The warmth, expertise, and intuitive guidance make every session feel like a journey — one where you leave not only a better musician but also more in tune with yourself and those around you."

Moana A.
Workshop participant

"There is so much to love about these Circle Singing workshops. From the moment it began, I felt immediately welcomed into this circle of strangers. I was so kept on my toes and in the moment that the hours quite literally flew by. And when it was over, even though few words had been shared amongst us, I felt connected to a whole new circle of friends."

Alison Lewis
Workshop participant

"Simply magic. These improvisation-based workshops will help your singers become free, confident, independent, and honest in their music making!"

Rob Dietz
Workshop participant

"Everyone should have a chance to experience the musical magic that happens in a circle singing workshop. There is a deep spiritual connection experienced individually and collectively through shared breath and song. In these times, making space for beauty is essential to our survival."

— Rev. Theresa, workshop participant
